Environmental Screenings
Environmental Screenings
Archaeology, or environmental, screenings are desktop studies conducted by CCTH staff. There are two options when requesting one:
- Archaeology-only screening – where only the potential for encountering protected archaeological resources is examined
- Full environmental screening – which includes desktop analysis of archaeology, paleontology/geology, botany, zoology and history
These screenings involve analysis of departmental data including known archaeological and paleontological sites, provincially registered heritage properties, National Historic Sites, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, provincially designated special places and areas of cultural, paleontological, botanical, zoological and historic sensitivity within the project area.
Application
Fill out the environmental screening request form and submit it to spp@novascotia.ca.
