High School Personal Development Credit
Sport Leadership – Coaching and Officiating
In partnership with the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development and Sport Nova Scotia, the Department of Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage has developed the Sport Leadership Personal Development Credit for high school students in Nova Scotia.
This program provides students with the opportunity to build valuable leadership skills through coaching and/or officiating, while earning a high school credit for their meaningful contribution to the sport community.
Eligibility
The program is open to Nova Scotia High School students in Grades 10, 11 and 12 who are actively involved in coaching or officiating with:
- a community sport club, or
- a provincial sport organization that is a member of Sport Nova Scotia
Program structure
Students enrolled in the program may earn one full high school credit by completing all program requirements in either coaching or officiating.
