Heritage Property

Where can I find properties registered under the Heritage Property Act?

For examples of properties that have been researched and officially registered under the Heritage Property Act, visit the Canadian Register of Historic Places (CRHP).

Canada’s definitive online source for information about historic places, the CRHP is a searchable database that Federal, Provincial and Territorial governments have been populating since 2001. Today, the website provides access to material about more than 12,500 historic places across Canada, including approximately 1000 registered heritage properties from Nova Scotia.

To find properties from our province on the CRHP, please use the advanced search feature and enter ‘Nova Scotia’ under the Province/Territory category.

By preserving and promoting our natural and cultural heritage we ensure it remains a vital part of Nova Scotia, enriching citizens and society
